Rock Band by Robert Chinchilla

Rock Band is an after school class, where L.A.C.E.R students can go and learn how to play an instrument of choice (if the Rock Band teacher has it). The teacher’s name last year was Erin, and he had an assistant that would go around to help you if needed. There are students that have already been there for a year or more. At one point he is going to take recommendations of songs for the separate songs we’re going to do through the year. After we choose the song(s) the teacher starts writing the lyrics and instrument notes. This is my second year playing keyboards with the band.

Rock Band does a song for the different holidays of the year, so multiple songs need to be chosen so that we can start practicing right away. That year L.A.C.E.R’s “STARFEST” was going to take place here, Washington Irving Steam Magnet Middle. To get us prepared for this, the Rock Band teacher started to have class on Monday to allow more practice time. The two songs we were going to do where, Believer, and My Generation.

This year the Rock Band teacher gave us bad news that he was going to leave, and that new teachers were going to come. His last day was in October, and that class we did a going away party. The very next week the new teachers came, and that day we talked about songs to do for Halloween. We started practicing soon after, but still they told us that we weren’t ready to perform, so we started practicing other songs for later on. If you’re in L.A.C.E.R, and like to play music this might be a good choice for you.
