Irving is proud to follow the Discipline Foundation Policy: School Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Program.

SWPBIS is a research-based, highly-effective approach to creating, teaching, and reinforcing students’ social, emotional, and academic learning skills that improve and sustain academic achievement as well as the well-being of all students. In order to support students in positive behavior, all schools are responsible to adopt, implement, and maintain Tier I supports in alignment with the District’s Discipline Foundation Policy: School-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support and the School Climate Bill of Rights.

The Link below below provides more information on SWPBIS strategies to create, support, and enhance a positive school culture and climate where all stakeholders feel welcomed, validated, and supported.

SWPBIS: Irving 5xP Power Expectations

The objective of Irving STEAM Magnet School is to provide a safe educational environment where there is a clear academic challenge while still ensuring that each child experiences success. An important key to this success lies in a caring relationship among the parents, teachers, and students.

A safe and orderly environment is necessary to achieve our objective. We recognize that middle school students undergo great social, emotional, mental, and physical changes and at times it becomes difficult for students to behave in a responsible manner. In order to establish consistent means for teachers and administrators to address student conduct, we have designed a school wide discipline plan and positive behavior support system which all grade levels will follow. We expect that this will provide a more productive learning environment for all students at Irving STEAM Magnet School.

We believe that if all parents, teachers, and staff at Irving STEAM Magnet School enforce the expectations of the Irving 5xP Power Expectations

National Epidemic: VAPE Awareness
